Engineering & research
theVIOLET
A multi-system engineering and research ecosystem connecting scientific work, technical data and software architecture.
Architecture proposalOverview
theVIOLET is an ecosystem-level initiative for organizing multiple engineering systems and research domains. Its architecture separates research, technical data, implementation and verification, so each can evolve with a defined purpose and ownership.
System capabilities
Multi-system architecture
Independent engineering systems within a common ecosystem, each with its own purpose, interfaces and lifecycle.
Technical data packages
System-specific requirements, architecture, design and verification information under defined ownership.
Scientific and mathematical foundations
Research results, models, mathematical requirements and design methods with explicit relationships to engineering work.
Computational engineering
A planned architecture for design, search, realization, reconstruction and transformation workflows, supported by shared mathematical foundations.
Modular software and shared libraries
Separate application, library and implementation boundaries so systems can reuse technical components without duplicating ownership.
Data provenance and experiments
Datasets, schemas, lineage, experiment context and generated artifacts connected to their producing methods.
Research-to-engineering traceability
Explicit links from scientific results to requirements, subsystem designs, software and verification evidence.
Configuration and controlled evolution
Versioned identities, registries, baselines and change-impact relationships across systems and their dependencies.
Verification and reproducibility
Separation of test results, validation evidence and approval records, with reproducible inputs and attributable outputs.
Development stage
Scientific architecture and ecosystem design. The capabilities above describe the intended scope; computational implementations, scientific qualification and public releases remain distinct development milestones.
